Husein Kadimagomaev and Zafar Mohsen look to capitalize on the added platform brought on by Francis Ngannou vs. Renan Ferreira.
On Saturday, Oct. 19, one of PFL's biggest events in promotional history goes down inside the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia. The main event features a highly-anticipated debut, as former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou takes on 2023 PFL heavyweight tournament winner Renan Ferreira.
Earlier in the night, two featherweights, Kadimagomaev and Mohsen, have an opportunity to make a name for themselves in their promotional debuts. Firstly, Kadimagomaev enters the "Battle of the Giants" event with a professional MMA record of 11-1, including three wins under the BRAVE Combat Federation banner.
Meanwhile, Mohsen is a former German Cage Pioneer featherweight champion with an overall record of 13-4. The 29-year-old plans to showcase his potential on a global stage by taking out Kadimagomaev.

Kadimagomaev vs. Mohsen will join the following four fights on the pay-per-view portion of Saturday's event - AJ McKee Jr. vs. Paul Hughes (lightweight), Johnny Eblen vs. Fabian Edwards (middleweight), Cris Cyborg vs. Larissa Pacheco (women's featherweight), and Ngannou vs. Ferreira (heavyweight).
It should be noted that the Francis Ngannou vs. Renan Ferreira main card, including Kadimagomaev vs. Mohsen, will start on Saturday, October 19 at 1:00 p.m. PT / 3:00 p.m. CT / 4:00 p.m. ET.

Husein Kadimagomaev vs Zafar Mohsen
Round 1:
Husein Kadimagomaev vs. Zafar Mohsen is underway. The fighters touch gloves. Mohsen starts with two inside leg kicks. Kadimagomaev is showcasing some heavy feints. Kadimagomaev attempts to establish his range with a body kick.
Mohsen lands an outside leg kick. Kadimagomaev lunges forward with an overhand right and slightly finds the target. Kadimagomaev shoots for a single-leg takedown. Kadimagomaev secures top control and pushes Mohsen into the fence.
Mohsen works back to his feet on the cage. Mohsen pushes off and they meet in the middle. Kadimagomaev grabs a leg again and pushes Mohsen against the fence. Kadimagomaev is attempting to land a takedown. Mohsen counters with a judo toss before Kadimagomaev quickly gets back to his feet.
Kadimagomaev has Mohsen against the cage. Mohsen steps across again and temporarily takes down Kadimagomaev with his judo. Mohsen attempts the same technique and Kadimagomaev pushes off into striking range.
Mohsen is attempting to apply forward pressure with his striking. Kadimagomaev looks somewhat tired with thirty seconds left in the round. Mohsen throws out a variety of kicks before trying to explode forward with his punches. Kadimagomaev slips due to a head kick that misses. Round one ends.
Round 2:
The second round of Husein Kadimagomaev vs. Zafar Mohsen is underway. Kadimagomaev is inching forward with heavy pressure. Mohsen pushes Kadimagomaev back. Mohsen seems to be gaining confidence.
Mohsen finds the target with a left hand. Mohsen attempts a flying knee. Kadimagomaev grabs a leg and hasn't established a solid position on the ground. Mohsen turns Kadimagomaev and temporarily takes control.
Kadimagomaev gets back to his feet and pushes Mohsen against the fence. Kadimagomaev hasn't found much success in his takedowns thus far. Mohsen is throwing smaller punches inside, but the fight has somewhat stalled for a moment.
Mohsen goes back to his judo and puts Kadimagomaev on his back. Mohsem has secured top position and he's building his ground and pound. Mohsen is proving the betting odds weren't overly accurate, as Kadimagomaev was a massive favorite.
Mohsen has a cut above his right eye that's bleeding pretty badly. Kadimagomaev gets back to his feet and pushes Mohsen against the cage once again. The round ends with a stalled position.
Round 3: The third round of Husein Kadimagomaev vs. Zafar Mohsen is underway. Kadimagomaev attempts a rear-hand uppercut that misses. Mohsen lands a clean left hand. Kadimagomaev losses his balance and falls back.
Kadimagomaev attempts to grab a leg and can't secure a takedown. Mohsen attempts to reverse the position. Kadimagomaev goes back to pushing Mohsen against the cage. Kadimagomaev's inability to execute a takedown on the fence has led to an awful performance with three minutes left.
Kadimagomaev drops to a knee and Mohsen throws several short elbows. Kadimagomaev doesn't seem to have any other plans for this fight. He's continuing to hold Mohsen against the cage. The referee forces them to separate due to inactivity.
Mohsen almost lands a flush head kick. Kadimagomaev looks exhausted as he attempts to survive with less than two minutes left. Kadimagomaev shoots another desperation takedown attempt and finds zero success. Mohsen reverses the position and lands in half guard.
The fight will likely end here with Mohsen throwing down ground and pound. We're going to the scorecards. Clearly a 30-27 win for Zafar Mohsen.
